Thomas Schaefer

Senior information security, cyber risk, data, and AI leader with 20+ years of experience across banking, satellite communications, critical infrastructure, audit, consulting, and enterprise technology.

Former senior security leader and CISO in regulated environments, including global information security management and banking security leadership roles.
Built and matured enterprise security programs, cyber strategies, governance models, and risk management capabilities in finance, telecom, aerospace, and critical infrastructure contexts.
Strong data and AI leadership background, including enterprise data, integration, and global AI leadership experience, with responsibility for AI strategy, governance, and delivery.
Proven transformation leader, building and scaling teams of 40+ people with accountability for strategy, delivery, cloud/data platforms, APIs, integration backbones, and multi-million euro budgets.
Combines cybersecurity, business risk, data, AI, and audit perspective, with credentials including CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, and ISO 27001 Lead Practitioner.
